How much money has Canada given to Ukraine?
In the year since Russia's latest invasion of Ukraine, Canada has committed more than $1 billion in military aid to help Ukrainians defend themselves from what the federal government has called "unjustifiable" and "unthinkable" deadly attacks ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Since 2022, Canada has provided Ukraine with more than $5 billion in multifaceted assistance, including financial, humanitarian, development military and peace and stabilization aid. Canada is represented in Ukraine by the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine in Kyiv and the Consulate of Canada in Lviv.
On 5 May, President Macron announced $1.7 billion were donated to Ukraine so far in 2022. Additional financial aid of US$300 million announced on 5 May, bringing the total to US$2 billion.
Ukrainians arriving in Canada through the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) pathway are eligible for a one-time payment from the Canadian government. The financial assistance is a direct deposit, one-time, non-taxable benefit payment of $3,000 per adult and $1,500 per child (age 17 and under).

Data from the Ukraine Support Tracker shows that, as a single country, the U.S. has provided by far the most aid to Ukraine, followed by EU institutions ($37.2 billion), the UK ($7.5 billion), Germany ($5.8 billion) and Canada ($5.1 billion).
The UK is already the second largest military donor to Ukraine, committing £2.3bn in 2022.
On paper at least, Canada has 112 Leopard 2 tanks, of which 82 are fighting tanks. The remaining 30 are armoured battlefield engineering vehicles with treads that are intended for erecting or demolishing obstacles, and other tasks.
